You install this machine just under your cabinet, thus the name. The carafe is left hanging of course, and you need to be extra careful in securing it to the brewer. The carafe is made from glass which is a bit worrisome as it may fall off and crash. But it seems like there is a sturdy construction here and it enables the carafe to attach securely to the brewer.
